Why CBD is better with a little THC - Leaf Remedys

Did you know that trace amounts of THC combined with CBD can actually increase the efficacy of your hemp extract?

It’s true, studies show that whole-plant phyto-nutrients are much more superior to individual compounds like CBD isolate.

But why?

Let’s first start with the differences between CBD and THC.

CBD vs. THC

While THC offers its own therapeutic benefits, it does get its users high. A list of options for Best Delta 10 Gummies can be found online and a list of Best THC Gummies is your best guide to finding the gummies of your choice. Some would say it can cause paranoia, anxiety, or panic, especially when taken on its own or in higher amounts. For this reason, many people steer clear from THC altogether.

CBD, on-the-other-hand, provides similar medicinal benefits as THC, but without that overwhelming, and at times, paranoid high.

But here’s where things really get interesting…

A little THC goes a long way

Believe it or not, when small amounts of THC (0.3%) is combined with high ratios of CBD it actually increases their therapeutic effects.

This is referred to as the Entourage Effect –– when multiple compounds, or cannabinoids, help enhance each other's beneficial properties within the body.

Let’s look at a few studies to back these claims…

In one study, researchers focused on possible antitumor activity from combining CBD with THC.

While this study was not done on humans, or even animals, it shows promise that combining these two therapeutic cannabinoids helps increase their medicinal value.

Additionally, in this same study, researchers stated that, “Individually, both Δ9-THC and CBD could increase apoptosis through the production of ROS [Reactive Oxygen Species], however, Δ9-THC was significantly less efficient at inducing this process as a single agent as compared to when it was used in combination with CBD.”

Pretty compelling, right?

But there’s one other study we’d like to point out…

Researchers found that full-spectrum CBD products provided much more therapeutic relief than when compared to CBD isolates.

This is not to say that CBD isolate is not effective. It just means that whole-plant extracts provide more bioavailability, as well as efficacy, as it contains all the phyto-nutriets of the cannabis plant.

Is CBD legal if it contains THC?

While Delta-9 THC is federally illegal, the 2018 Farm Bill legalized the cultivation, transportation, and production of industrial hemp, as long as it contains no more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

This is because 0.3% of Delta-9 THC is not enough to cause a psychoactive effect. In fact, studies show that when higher ratios of CBD are combined with 0.3% Delta-9 THC, it can actually prevent any psychoactive activity.

That said…
