These CBD-infused peanut butter bites not only melt in your mouth, but they contain medicinal properties that help support normal emotional balance and relaxation. They’re the perfect treat for managing normal stress levels and a racing mind.

But we get it… Maybe you’re not much of a cook. Maybe the thought of standing in the kitchen overwhelms you. And that’s ok!

Even if you’re not much of a cook, we’re confident that if you put your mind to it and follow simple instructions, you can make a tasty treat like CBD peanut butter energy bites.

But first…

Can you cook with CBD oil?

Absolutely! Cooking with CBD is a lot simpler than it sounds. All you really need is a high quality CBD oil and you’re set.

However, there are a few tips worth mentioning when it comes to cooking with CBD oil. Don’t worry, these are basic.

How to cook with CBD oil

The first thing you want to do is purchase high quality CBD oil, preferably full spectrum or broad spectrum CBD.

While full spectrum is known to produce the Entourage Effect—thus giving your body the full benefits from the cannabinoids and terpenes—many users claim that broad spectrum CBD can do the same [¹].

The hemp plant is packed with vital nutrients, vitamins, amino acids, additional therapeutic cannabinoids, and aromatic terpenes and flavonoids [²]. By incorporating all of these nutrients together, you’re likely to achieve a more well-rounded therapeutic experience.

Now then, let’s dive into...

CBD cooking tips

1. Heating CBD Oil

While the actual definition of cooking is “combining and heating the ingredients in various ways”, we strongly advise you to be wary of heating your CBD oil.

Heat can potentially change the composition and the effectiveness of your CBD oil. Either invest in a cooking oil like olive oil that’s infused with CBD, or just add a few drops of your CBD oil to the final product.

For example, high quality CBD oilcan easily be added to sauteed vegetables or oven roasted veggies after they’ve been cooked.

2. CBD Oil and Healthy Fats

If you really want to get the most effect out of your CBD recipes, consider mixing your CBD oil with other healthy fats like coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, ect.

And here’s why… CBD is fat-soluble! Which means, your body can absorb the medicinal properties of high quality CBD oil faster and better when it’s combined with another fat [²]. Just be sure not to place your CBD oil and other fats over direct heat.

3. CBD and alcohol

While there are a ton of CBD cocktail recipes, we strongly advise you to be mindful of combining CBD and alcohol.

CBD is a calming cannabinoid, and alcohol can often act as a sedative. Mixing the two can make for a wonderful calming experience, but be sure not to drive if you plan on drinking a CBD cocktail [³,].

Can you bake with CBD oil?

Yes, baking with CBD oil is doable. While we know that baking involves heat, we advise you to stick to baking recipes that require 350 degrees or less. The lower the heat, the better.

Or you can opt for no-bake goods, like the CBD peanut butter energy bites or CBD no-bake cookies.

Cooking with CBD Takeaways

Whether it’s the holiday season, summer luncheons, or birthday parties, CBD oil can be the secret ingredient that has everyone wanting more.
